New Years Eve 2010-2011

We had a fun night ringing in the New Year. We started off the evening by playing some "minute to win it" games. We loved it. The best part of that show is coming up with easy party games.

Matchmaker -- There are 18 m&m under cups. You have to uncover the m&m and put all the blues in one cup, the reds in another, and the greens in another. You can only pick up one cup at a time and can only use one hand. You have one minute to win it!
Nathan is going for the gold. Unfortunately for him Dad won with getting it done in 48 seconds with Daniel right on his heels at 49 seconds.

Cookie to mouth -- You have to start with the cookie on your forehead and by using your face you have to move it down into your mouth. YUM!

We started with Dave and worked our way though the family. Everyone had gone their minute but no one had been able to get the cookie in their mouth. We thought maybe we got the wrong type of cookie?

Then I went up. The first cookie I got in 8 sec and the second cookie in 15 second. There is nothing you can do to keep a cookie from me. Heehee

Stack 5 apples on top of each other. Sounds simple? Sounds impossible? Well we actually did pretty good.

Here me, Dave, and Daniel all were able to stack them. Craig came really close with four--almost five and Ashton even stacked three.

Hang 6 hangers from a rod one to the other so that no hooks rests in the corner.

Nathan was the first to go and made this game look hard. If you put the hanger just slightly off center the whole thing lurches and slides. It seemed to get harder and harder the more you hang.

Then Ashton went...Nathan left the bathroom mumbling under his breath, "I am soooo embarrassed."
We enjoyed a family game (played twice) of Qwirkle. It was tons of fun and the best part is that all ages can play and have fun. Thanks Grandma Cadina.

We ended the evening watching "The Little Mermaid" (apparently Dave has never seen it) and watching the Ball drop in New York.
Happy New Year!

Our lives have completely changed since last year. I am looking forward to the new year and adventures coming up. Love you all.

What a fun night! Those were really fun minute to win it games. Love the show. You guys were awesome. Papa likes Qwirkle too. It is fun for all ages. Even those of us who are losing brain cells can match colors and shapes. Happy New Year!
