My friend Diana was upgrading her fish to a larger tank. We were lucky enough to get her old tank. Ashton was sooo excited to get some fish. She picked out two beta fish (don't worry there is a divider) and spent the rest of the day calling family to tell them about it. I think most people got a little more information then expected. Ashton talked and talked and talked. Describing every detail. Joe is the blue fish and Bob is the red fish. Our family's first pets.
......Less then one day later we have fish trauma. Saturday morning Craig starts yelling from the kitchen that the fish are on the same side of the tank and are fighting. I run in and exclaim, "Oh my gosh..." Dave runs in hearing all the turmoil but not realizing what Craig was saying. He assumed someone was hurt. When he discovered it was just the fish he left the kitchen totally bugged. Heehee. The kids and I were very concerned. Apparently I put the divider in upside down. So I fixed it but had to buy some more supplies and some medicine for the fish to help them heal. The fish seem healthy and safe but they are very very aggressive through the divider. I think now they believe they can get through it. Joe is the bully. He was the one who found a way into Bob's side of the tank. He tore part of Bob's fin (Although Bob took a bite out of his). When it is feeding time he eats his and then puts his lips to the divider and starts sucking. He ends up sucking Bob's food over to his side and eats it too. Really!!! He rams the divider over and over trying to get at Bob. They are quite entertaining for fish. Dave's final words, "How much did we spend on fish right before Christmas?!" Woops. But we love them.

The real fun is when you take away the divider!! ha! just kidding. that is a great pet!
Wow, they are so handsome. I'd say beautiful, but Bob and Joe may be offended. Thanks for the call. You sounded so grown up!
Love, Grandma Hatch
we were actually told not to put two beta fish even close to each other cuz the'll bang their heads against the glass to get to the other.. good luck guys!!! it's certinally entertaining!!!
really! We were told that they like to see other fish. That is keeps them active and happy. hmmmm
i have failed as a dad .... we do not support anything Red in this household. And yet we have a red fish and a blue fish with red markings.
You may need two separate bowls so they don't see each other. Weird how aggressive they are. Did they have a bad childhood? Didn't get enough hugs? Your fish are RAD -- they have reactive attachment disorder. Good luck!
